The Vehicle - Renault Megane 225 in orange pearl

The Brief –

This Megane is owned by a very keen amateur Detailer, a Porter Cable owner. The owner wanted to take his vehicles preparation to the next level, so entrusted our services to create the maximum gloss level possible.

The Process –

The car was soaked with a foam blanket from the Gilmour of a 50:50 mix Snow Foam : Chemical Guys Maxi Suds II
Rinsed.
Washed by hand using Meguiar’s Shampoo Plus with Lambswool washmitts using a 2 bucket method.
Rinsed
Wheels cleaned using Chemical Guy’s Premium Blue Wheel Cleaner with a Meguiar’s spoke brush.
Arches cleaned using a Meguiar’s MF washmitt and strong Shampoo Plus mix.
Rinsed
Washed by hand using Meguiar’s Shampoo Plus with Lambswool washmitts using a 2 bucket method.
Dried using Meguiar’s Water magnets and last Touch QD.

This vehicle had been clayed during a previous visit to our premises, and was free from bonded contaminant.

When the car was dried, we masked before polishing using 3M 3434 tape-

The bonnet was polished using the PC, Lake County orange pad and a 50:50 mix of Menzerna Intensive Polish P091L and P085RD3.01. The lubrication from the P085RD3.01 is immense, no need to mix up some G.I.M.P. today. Still finished off with FPII on a white LC pad though, as the gloss the FPII gave on this car was immense.

Alonso did the sides etc with Menz Final Polish II, on a white Lake County pad, and Tommy cut in the tight spots, also using FPII, but on a 4” White LC pad.

The rubbers cleaned with Einszett Plastic Cleaner, then all trim dressed with Einszett Plastic and Rubber dressing, nice.

Glass cleaned with Meguiars Glass Cleaner Concentrate.

Tyres and inner arches dressed with Meguiar’s Hyper Dressing, cut 1:1.

We then applied a coat of Einszett Glanz Wax to maximise the 'flake' in the paint of this vehicle.

As the final touch to this detail we then spent a good hour going round the car with Meguiar’s 3 in 1 detail brushes, and the Meguiar’s Last Touch, making sure that no polish or wax residue was left. The sign of a good detail.

The finished vehicle-
